Yorkie Story

"Pant, pant,” The three legged Yorkie panted as it limped around the streets looking for a home. The dog shivers as it drags itself through the white blanket of snow and it whimpers as the snowflakes dance and spin onto his already damp fur. He finds a doorstep to rest on, not caring about the itchy “Welcome!” mat. The house in front of him even in its horrible condition looks like heaven to the puppy. The cheap quality windows are are shattered and the wooden door is backwards and has cracks. Slowly the dog’s eyelids drift into a deep sleep like leaves falling from a oak tree.

It is Christmas morning and many kids around the world wake up looking for Christmas presents wrapped and ready underneath a Christmas tree. This town does not. The kids in this town lost full belief in Santa as for every Christmas morning, there were no presents. And little boy Billy lost almost all hope, but not all of it has been lost in the space of lost dreams.

“Billy! Go fetch the mail for mommy, will you?” mumbled mom in her tired Saturday morning voice. “Ok,” Billy replied once he realized once again that there were no Christmas presents under their cheap tree. Billy ran to the door, opened it, and started to scream in joy. “It’s a dog!” He picked up the dog and gave as much of his body warmth as humanly possible. “I wished for a dog last night!” His mom started to cry. “Lets name him Santa.”

Since Santa was Billy’s only friend and only source entertainment, Billy never let his dog out of his sight. He would eat, play, and even watch tv with his new  found best friend.

A few days later one breezy evening Billy was taking a nap with his best friend Santa at his side. “Bark! bark!” the dog stood up with his nose perched up like he smelled something suspicious. Billy woke up and felt dizzy and just not right. “FIRE!’ He could hear his next door neighbors scream at the top of their lungs. Billy couldn’t open his bedroom door and was trapped in a house that was about to go up in flames. Santa took action right away. He ran through a little hole in the bottom of the  dark brown door that Billy made when he found Santa. He ran outside and tugged and tugged on the fireman’s pants until he got his attention. He lead the fireman through the fire and to Billy’s bedroom door where Billy was screaming. “I am coming!” The fireman yelled as he kicked down the door and lifted Billy up by his thighs. “OMG! thank you so much Mr. Fireman!” cried Billy’s mom as she grabbed him and hugged him. Billy picked up Santa and made the hug a group hug. “I love you Santa,” Billy said with passion. “Woof,” replied the dog while licking Billy’s face.

Idiom Story

THE STORY! BY MIKAIL SAEED

ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WAS A TEACHER AND SHE HATED HER JOB TERRIBLY. HER NAME WAS MRS. ANIDEM (DEFINITELY NOT MRS. MEDINA BACKWARDS.) SHE ALWAYS PLAYED DIRTY TRICKS ON HER EXTREMELY LITERAL CLASS. THE CLASS TOOK EVERYTHING WORD FOR WORD. ESPECIALLY, VENDHAN! HE WAS THE MOST “KNOWN”  KID IN THE ENTIRE SCHOOL. HE WAS KNOWN FOR HIS UNIQUE PERSONALITY. ONE DAY MRS. ANIDEM WAS SO MAD AT VENDHAN. HE SPILLED APPLE JUICE ALL OVER HER PAPERS AND SHE ALMOST GOT FIRED. SHE WANTED TO TEACH HIM A LESSON… ABOUT IDIOMS! (DRAMATIC MUSIC IN THE BACKGROUND.) SHE WENT TO CLASS WITH THE BIGGEST SMILE ON THE NEXT MORNING. SHE HAD A CUP OF COFFEE IN HER HANDS THAT SHE GOT FROM THE TEACHERS LOUNGE. “MRS. ANIDEM, YOU ARE ALWAYS SO LATE AND NEVER GET THE COFFEE. IT IS ALWAYS EMPTY WHEN YOU GET HERE. HOW DID YOU GET IT TODAY?” ASKED VENDHAN’S BEST FRIEND FEONIE. SHE WAS THE MOST FEARED GIRL IN THE WHOLE COUNTRY. MRS. ANIDEM REPLIED, “WELL YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY, THE EARLY BIRD CATCHES THE WORM!” THE WHOLE CLASS LOOKED CONFUSED. THE KIDS THOUGHT SHE WAS CRAZY. “YOU KNOW WHAT TRACY, (MRS. ANIDEM’S FIRST NAME,) I AM GOING TO BE NICE TO YOU TODAY." MRS, ANIDEM ANSWERED, “ DO NOT LIE VENDHAN, A LEOPARD CAN NOT CHANGE HIS SPOTS.” “OK BOYS AND GIRLS ITS BARKER’S DOZEN TO THREE AND I SUGGEST WE GET TO WORK ON IDIOMS” “OK YOU'RE CRAZY!” VENDHAN SHOUTED, “WAIT WHAT ARE IDIOMS?”

Fossil Story

Journal day #1                         July 3rd 2006

I am currently in the gobi desert bordering china and I am almost sure that I found a fossil. Not many things in the desert have the same color as a fossil. That color is white. i will record back when I am positive that what I discovered is a fossil.

It is 12pm and the sun is closely reaching  its peak. It is about 102 degrees F and the excavation process is getting harder and harder. I have excavated a circle around the object and I see no extra pieces. I will record back when I have a better idea of what the object is.

It is now 2pm and I am sweating like there is no tomorrow. I drink plenty of water to stay hydrated which is crucial in my mission. I have excavated enough sand to see what looks like two humps.

I am back and I am positive that I found a camel fossil. I can now see the head and the tail. I am pulling it extremely slowly making sure I don’t break the fragile fossil. I spilled my water about an hour ago. I have nothing to drink and predators start to lurk the horizon. I am thirsty now. I start to jacket the fossil. My van is slowly sinking into quicksand. I can’t do anything about it. Its is so far away. I am stranded here with the camel fossil. What do I do?

Steve Jobs An Inventor

Do you know that thing that many people see everyday. That small or large device with a picture of an "Apple" on the back of it. Those are called Apple products. Devices that have unlimited possibilities. From playing games like "Angry Birds" and "Flappy Bird" to surfing the web or watching YouTube videos. These have it all. But have you ever thought about who started the idea of these products? Probably not. Well your in luck because this blog is all about the founder of the apple products, Steve Jobs.

Steve Jobs was born on Feburary 24 1955 in San Francisco, California. The family move to Mountain View, California when Steve was only five years old. His father showed him how to use electronics and how to take apart and put together a radio or a television. As a result to this Steve had an unusual hobby of playing with random electronics and taking them apart. His family later adopted a daughter named Patty. Steve's mom was an accountant and taught both kids how to read before attending school. Steve was so smart in school that the board wanted Steve to skip two grades but his parents allowed him to skip only one.

In high school Jobs met a friend named Steve Wozniak who shared the same interests as Steve Jobs. He applied to Reed College in Portland, Oregon and dropped out after six months. In the next eighteen months he enrolled in many creative classes including calligraphy.

Overall he was a great inventor who changed the lives of so many people.

Question-Do you have one of his inventions?

Later on Steve and Steve made the first Mac 1. At first Jobs did not like it and went on to producing Disney movies such as Toy Story. He did not like the disney industry and resigned nd went back to helping the Apple company.

Flappy Bird

Flappy bird is the number one app. But why? Flappy Bird is a simple idea where you tap a bird, and it has to fly through tubes without hitting them. Easy right? No. Flappy Bird is probably one of the most frustrating games in the world. Why so addicting? People say that every time you play in the back of your mind there is that last piece of hope that time will be better. Did you know that the Apple Store is no longer hosting this game because the game creator could not take the popularity? Although he was making thousands of dollars off the game. Would you do that? That is crazy! But most things good have their consequences. Since some people can take the frustration, incidents have occurred. Like a kid killed his own brother over the game. And many phones have been thrown and broken because of this game.

Also since this game is so popular and is not being sold anymore, people are selling their phones with the Flappy Bird app on them. They are being sold for more than the phone is even worth! For example $700 for an iPhone 4 with Flappy Bird on it. That is insane!'

Question-Do you have Flappy Bird??

How to build a Snowman

Have you ever wanted to build a snowman? But you never knew where to start? well keep on reading and I will show you how.

First, begin with a picture in your mind. When you’re rolling that first snowball and creating the base for your snowman, pick a location that is in the shade. Lower temperatures and protection from  sunlight will help stop melting.

Second, after your snowman is built and when it’s below freezing, spray your snowman  with water so that the outside of it freezes. It will take hotter temperatures and more time to melt this ice because it is now ice instead of ice, which when combined with shade will maximize the life span of your snowman and makes sure that he or she keeps watch over your street for as long as possible.

3 balls of snow do not just make a snowman. You have to make it personal. Give your snowman so human features. For example, hat, eyes, nose, mouth and stomach. This will make your snowman be yours. These are just some ways to build a snowman. the possibilities are endless.Dare or the week-Build a snowman
