Introduction


Do you know how many ads an average  teenager sees in one day. Studies show that the average teen consumes over 3000 ads every single day. Also, did you know almost all ads try to trick you into buying the product with different strategies. In this blog I will show some examples of blogs and explain the different strategies that the ad uses. Here we go!

Do you know those Geico Commercials you see almost everyday. Well they use a strategy to make you join Geico. They use a strategy called Emotional Appeal. This makes you feel a certain way and makes you believe that the product is better. Here is an example...





(In almost all Geico commercials use Emotional Appeal. This makes you feel happy or can make you laugh. It also makes you believe that Geico is the best choice because it says you can save 15% or more.)









(In this video it shows Endorsement. Endorsement is when a famous or well-known person is sponsoring a product. In this video Robert Griffin sponsors Gatorade. This commercial also has a sprinkle of Band-Waggon. Band-Waggon is when the commercial makes you want to be part of a popular group. In this case, the Gatorade group.)

Facts About Emotional Appeal-

1)Emotional Appeal use manipulation to control your feelings about a topic, idea, thing, or institution

2)Emotional Appeal that is used in commercial are used to sway the consumers emotions to agree with the speaker's argument

Facts About Endorsement-

1)An act of giving one's public approval or support to someone or something.

2)A situation when someone famous or well-known says they like something. As a result, of this the fans of the special person will most likely follow that person and buy the product
