Shoveling Tips

Since this is a timely blog, and there was a lot of snow this winter, I am going to blog about the correct way to shovel snow. There are many different ways and tools to shovel snow but some could hurt your back or neck when your done.
First, your going to want a good shovel for you. whether it is big or small or heavy or light it has to work for you. If you don't get the right shovel you may have to do a lot of unnecessary bending and will cause pain.

Next, your want to dress up tightly. When your warm it is easier for you to breath and will allow you to finish the job you started. Also this will allow you to be comfortable while shoveling.

Try to push the snow instead of lifting it. When lifting snow ( which can be very heavy ) you are straining your shoulders. If lifting is necessary then you should hold the snow in front of you rather than behind you so that you can see where you are going.

Another tip is to pace yourself. If you rush yourself you can get very tired and sweaty which can cause you to get ill. Your body will be hot and cold at the same time and can not take that. When pacing yourself you should also keep your feet on the ground. instead of jumping or hopping always slide to the destination. If you fall you will get injured.

I hope this blog will help you in the next time you start to shovel!
